Richford

LIVE IN SOUTH EDMONTON

The area of Richford is bounded on the south by Ellerslie Road and on the west by the James Mowat Trail (111 Street). To the north and east the neighborhood is bounded by the Blackmud Creek Ravine. The Ellerslie Rugby Park is located in Richford which takes its name from Richford Road (5th Avenue SW), which was officially changed to a street number in 1982. The name Richford was originally intended to attract homesteaders into the area, as the name suggests the land is rich and fertile.

In 2006 the neighborhood contained 170 units, all of which were low density. Richford is not large enough to justify its own local school, but residents are able to share services easily with adjacent communities.

A stormwater management facility located in the center of the neighborhood provides a focal point around which homes are oriented and provides open space for the use of all residents.

Richford is considered to be a newer neighborhood in south west and there are approximately only 161 residences within it.
