The neighborhood of Miller is named after Abe Miller, a Hungarian lawyer who practiced in Edmonton for 40 years and served in the Alberta Legislature. It is bounded by 153 Avenue to the north, 50 Street to the west, and Manning Drive to the southeast.

Miller is conveniently close to Clareview LRT station which makes for an easy commute downtown, or to the University of Alberta campus as well as further south, even to Southgate Mall, all in fewer than 20 minutes.

Originally zoned for agricultural use, Miller’s development didn’t begin until the mid-1990s. Later, 80% of its development took place during the 2000-2006 period. So, overall Miller is considered to be a very new neighborhood. It has a mix of single-detached and semi-detached homes, plus some low-rises making it a popular choice for young Edmontonians searching for reasonable priced homes with a tolerable commute. Over 20% of residents in Miller commute to work and over 40% of the population is between the ages of 20 and 40.

Miller has great parks and one entire hectare of naturalized “wetlands park” that attracts migratory birds and various wildlife for picturesque views and a scenic backdrop for your next home.
