Laurel is a fairly new neighbourhood located in south east Edmonton. The community was established in the year 2007 and is located within the greater area known as The Meadows.  The boundaries of the area are 34 Street on the west, 23 Avenue on the north, 17 Street on the east, and on the south by the Anthony Henday Drive.  The population of Laurel currently stands at approximately 1606 individuals who reside in roughly 748 dwellings and the area continues to grow. The average house price within the Laurel area is currently around $401,596. The area offers residents numerous amenities including the newly built Meadows Recreation Center offering everything from public skating to swimming and a city library. A large shopping area offering residents grocery shopping and restaurants, banks etc. is also within a very short distance. Sherwood Park is also only a 10 minute drive from the Laurel area offering all of its smaller community amenities as well.
