Donsdale is a newer residential neighbourhood overlooking the North Saskatchewan River in the western part of the city. Donsdale’s northwestern boundary is Lessard Road, while its southwestern border is created by 184th Street. The North Saskatchewan River Valley forms a natural boundary on the east.

This is a relatively new neighbourhood, with a majority of the homes developed in the housing boom of the early 2000’s and a smaller percentage of them dating back to the mid-1990’s. The vast majority of the neighbourhood’s homes are detached single-family houses as well as a number of estate homes. Many of the homes in affluent Donsdale sell for over a million dollars putting the average home price in the neighbourhood at a steep $745,000. The Donsdale area is one of Edmonton’s most prosperous, with the average income close to three times the city-wide average..

Donsdale’s location at the top of the picturesque North Saskatchewan’s River Valley allows residents easy access to the scenic River Valley and its outdoor recreational activities, which include a system of hiking trails.
