The Dechene neighbourhood is a well established and family oriented residential community in the western part of the city and is bordered by 184th Street on the west, by 178th Street on the East and Callingwood Road on the north. 

The neighbourhood was named in honor of Joseph Dechene, a noted local businessman in Edmonton in the early 20th century. The area was originally developed in the 1980’s, with further development occurring from the late 1990’s into the early 2000’s. The vast majority of the homes in Dechene are detached, single-family units with a small amount of townhouse and duplex style units scattered throughout. The average home price in the Dechene neighbourhood is $482,000.
