Blackmud Creek

The Blackmud Creek neighborhood lies south of Ellerslie Road and east of Calgary Trail and was built with the intention of leveraging existing natural features to create an attractive residential community. The Virginia Park Woodland in the northeastern part of Blackmud Creek provides habitat for local flora and fauna species. Adjacent neighborhoods include Richford to the north, Rutherford to the west, and MacEwan to the northwest. This neighborhood is named after Blackmud Creek, which borders the community along the south and east.

Blackmud Creek is a primarily low density residential community, with higher density housing and commercial land uses on its edges along 111th Street and Ellerslie Road . Town houses are located between the commercial area and apartments in the northwest and single-family homes are located toward the interior of Blackmud Creek.

Blackmud Creek is educationally served by Johnny Bright School (JBS) which has a capacity of 1050.

Major shopping locations such as South Edmonton Common are only minutes away due to the Anthony Henday Drive and the Edmonton International Airport is less than 30 minutes from the neighborhood, convenient for globe trotters.
