The Nutcracker: When: December 8-11 Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium 11455 87 Ave 

The Nutcracker is an annual tradition performed by the beautiful Alberta Ballet and is held each year at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.  The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performs live as the talented ballet dancers take to the stage and the beloved tale begins. The entire family will delight in the beauty of The Nutcracker, set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score. Tickets are on sale now at arts and range in price from $24.oo to $124 each.

Country Christmas in Leduc When: Runs Dec 1 – Jan 1. , 5pm – 9pm Where: Township Rd 492, Leduc, AB

Enjoy a magical land of Christmas lights in the countryside!  This light display on 5 acres of country land is run annually by private citizen Doug Ruel and is a magical adventure for the whole family, run free of charge. The lights operate nightly from 4:30 pm – 10:00 pm however Santa Claus and hot chocolate are on site only on the weekends during December.  Food bank donations are requested and for more information click HERE.

A Prairie Christmas: When: December 10-11 Where: Praire Gardens, 56311 Lily Lake Rd. Bon Accord

Head on out into the country for a magical time of hay rides, cookie decorating and FREE Santa photo’s. This event is running from 11am – 5pm on December 10 and 11 and admission costs 9.90 per person (family rate) or 14.00 per person (individual rate). The Polar Express mini train will be operating as well as hay rides for the family. For more information click HERE.
