ReLife Gives Back – the Bissell Centre

Giving is important to us here at the ReLife Team and being able to support charity is one of the key motivators behind what we do. This month we are putting a spotlight on the incredible work being done at The Bissell Centre

40 pairs of socks, 7 pairs of winter boots, 12 toques, 25 gloves donated to the Bissell Centre on December 17

Over the past couple weeks we experienced a horrendous cold spell here in the city  of Edmonton with wind chills into the low minus 30’s. These freezing temperatures make life more than just miserable for the over 1,000 homeless people within Edmonton – it makes life dangerous. The Bissell Centre works tirelessly to help protect Edmonton’s vulnerable homeless people through a variety of programs including housing services, mental health services, employment assistance, and much more.

” Our mission is to work with others to empower people to move from poverty to prosperity. We enable people to meet their own basic daily needs, participate in community, have sustainable livelihoods, feel hope for the future and make plans for a prosperous life.” – The Bissell

There are many ways you can get involved and help support the work being done in the inner city – each year, the Bissell Centre distributes over 35000 free items of clothing to those in need and at no time of year is this need more pressing than in the heart of winter – warm clothing articles can be dropped off at any of the following locations
