Community Spotlight: Grandin

Grandin is a neighbourhood in the North Edmonton suburb of St. Albert. Located in the south central area of St.Albert, the community offers close proximity to the Anthony Henday Highway. The conveniently located freeway allows ease of access to everything Edmonton offers while allowing a slower pace of life in the suburbs. 

Neighbourhood Facts:

Grandin was established in the year 1959 and is one of St. Albert’s most mature communities. The early establishment means the area is incredibly beautiful with mature trees and heavy foliage throughout. The population is approximately 7291 and the area contains everything from single family homes to townhouse complexes. 

Parks and Green Spaces:

Grandin has 7 parks and 3 schools located within its boundaries, making it a very attractive area to raise a family. Parks in the area include: Grosvenor Park, Gatewood Park and Grenader Park. The area also features the popular outdoor Grosvenor Pool, which is a great place for families in the summer months.


The beautiful neighbourhood is conveniently located close to many major amenities. The downtown of St.Albert is only one community over, meaning Grandin is located near to almost every amenity St. Albert has to offer – the St. Albert Centre is the suburb’s major shopping complex and features over 60 retailers including Winners, Sport Check and London Drugs.
