Garneau is is one of the oldest inner city neighborhoods in Edmonton and was previously a developed town of its own (Old Strathcona) which became part of the city of Edmonton in 1912.
Bordered to the north, this community overlooks the North Saskatchewan River and to the East is 107 Street, the western boundary is 112 Street and 109 Ave to Whyte Avenue makes up the southern portion of the community.
Garneau attracts residents who want close proximity to the University as well as Whyte Avenue and downtown. The river valley’s walking trails also provide an attractive feature as does the quaint architecture of the area.
