New Year’s Eve Edmonton Downtown: When: December 31, 6pm- late Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square

This annual Edmonton New Year’s Celebration kicks off outside City Hall at 6pm with tons of free activities for the whole family to enjoy. This is a fun filled and non alcoholic family event so bring everyone down for children’s activities, roaming magicians, balloon artists and free ice skating with free rentals! There will also be live music and not one, but TWO fireworks displays – an early show at 8:30pm for the young ones to enjoy and the traditional midnight show at 12am. ETS will be offering free transit service to everyone from 6pm to 3:30am.

World Waterpark Family Beach Ball : When: December 31, 6pm – midnight Where: West Edmonton Mall World Waterpark

The World Waterpark in West Edmonton Mall kicks off the New Year with its 26th annual Family Beach Ball. This is a family oriented New Year’s Eve event with more than just swimming and waterslides to keep everyone entertained – the party also features magicians, balloons, a live DJ and best of all, a spectacular indoor fireworks display to welcome 2017! Tickets start at $30 for individual and go up to $150 for a family of four. Click HERE for more details.

New Year’s Eve Gala: When: December 31,  Where: The Westin, 10135 100 St 

Hosted by the Portuguese Canadian Multicultural Society, the Gala is an exciting evening event for the entire family to enjoy. The party begins with cocktails at 5:3opm and  dinner is served at 7pm with a family dance to follow. There will be party favours, door prizes and a separate private children’s playroom featuring movies for the kids to enjoy once tired. Ticket prices and details can be found on the Facebook page.
